Krista is the owner and director of Assessment Services Inc. She has been with the company since its inception in 2005. She attained her Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Iowa's school of social work and is a licensed clinical social worker. Krista is a certified EMDR therapist and treats individuals with co-occurring disorders. Krista understands the connection between trauma and addictive/compulsive behaviors. Krista has over 19 years experience in the addiction field and serves as a resource to the legal profession on matters regarding substance use disorders. Krista also served as a voting member of the Iowa Board of Social Work. She specializes in OWI evaluation, counseling, brief intervention, and in assisting agencies in reducing recidivism among alcohol offenders. Krista's passion to serve and her approachable demeanor make her an ideal counseling provider. Krista lives in Des Moines with her husband, three children and her two dogs. Krista is available in the Des Moines area office Monday-Friday by appointment only. Krista is also available to serve as an expert witness on issues related to addiction and the law. Krista also practices as a mental health therapist specializing in the treatment of co-occurring substance use/mental health disorders. Responsibilities: Supervises clinical counseling staff, provides three-tiered substance abuse assessment to court-ordered and voluntary clients by screening, evaluating, and diagnosing substance use and substance-induced disorders according to the the DSM-IV-TR.
