Krista is the owner and director of Assessment Services Inc. She has been with the company since its inception in 2005. She attained her Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Iowa's school of social work. Krista has over 10 years experience in the addiction field and serves as a resource to local and state officials on matters regarding substance abuse and addiction. Krista also served as a voting member of the Iowa Board of Social Work. She specializes in OWI evaluation, counseling, brief intervention, and in assisting agencies in reducing recidivism among alcohol offenders. Krista's passion to serve and her approachable demeanor make her an ideal counseling provider. Krista lives in Des Moines with her husband, daughter and her two dogs. Krista is available in the Des Moines area office Monday-Friday by appointment only. Krista is also available to serve as an expert witness on issues related to addiction and the law. Krista also practices as a mental health therapist specializing in the treatment of co-occurring substance use/mental health disorders. Co-Founder & Alcohol/Drug Counselor

Accomplishment: Co-founded Assessment Services Inc. Provided over 3000 unique substance abuse assessments. 

Responsibilities: Supervises clinical counseling staff, provides three-tiered substance abuse assessment to court-ordered and voluntary clients by screening, evaluating, and diagnosing substance use and substance-induced disorders according to the the DSM-IV-TR.


September 2006 to Present

Monitoring Services LLC. 

Founder & Chief Operating Officer

Accomplishment: Designed, developed and implemented Iowa’s first Continuous Alcohol Monitoring Program. 

Responsibilities: Responsible for program design, procedure and administrative duties. In addition, responsible for all equipment installation, maintenance, removal and monitoring in the immediate geographic region. Responsible for overall program operations and supervision of technical staff.

In-Home Social Worker

Responsibilities: Provide In-home counseling, supervision and skill-building services to adjudicated families and children in the Des Moines area. Facilitated both group and individual sessions with an emphasis on substance-dependent individuals within the DHS system.

Responsibilities: Managed all incoming referrals and waiting list. Coordinated admission to programs’ residential levels of care.

Responsibilities: Provided substance abuse assessment and referral services to homeless men and women in the Des Moines metro at the three main shelters via a contract with Primary Health Care Inc.
